Beannachtaí na Cásca | Happy Easter

boatGo raibh Cáisc mhór mhaith agaibh uilig.

Am ar leith é seo le bheith ag machnamh ar an am atá thart ach fosta le bheith ag beartú don todhchaí.

Tréimhse chorraitheach dune ar bith a chreideann san aiséirí — bíodh sin spioradálta, pearsanta nó fiú polaitiúil!

Thosaigh mé Domhnach na Cásca le cairde Modhacha de mo chuid ag searmanas coisc locha. Bhí ceiliúr na n-éan in iomaíocht lenár n-iomainn, ní gá a rá ce bhain an comórtas áirithe sin.

Tráthnóna, baileoidh mé le mo chomrádaithe Poblachtánacha le  hómós a thabhairt do laochra Éirí Amach na Cásca agus le paidir a chur le hanam na mairbh a thug a mbeo ar son saoirse a dtíre.

Agus amárach, tosóidh an obair arís, buíochas le Dia nuair a lainseáilim bád ar an Lagán ar son an Welcome Organisation a chuireann dídeán ar fáil do na bochta.

Súil agam go rachaidh sé ar snámh níos fearr ná an báidín seo sa loch ag a raibh an searmanas ar maidin againn.

A Happy Easter to all our ezine readers.

This is a special time to reflect on times past but also to recommit ourselves to future endeavours.

A time of resurrection and rebirth — whether that be spiritual, personal or even political.

I started Sunday with a 7am service with my Methodist mentors at a lakeside service where our hymns competed with the singing of the birds. You can guess who won that contest.

This afternoon, I will gather with my republican friends and comrades to honour the heroism of the Easter Rising and pay our respects to our patriot dead.

And tomorrow, the work begins again when I launch a boat on the Lagan which was made by users of the Welcome Organisation’s centre for the homeless.

Hopefully, it will take to water somewhat better than this boat on the lake of our Easter service.
